Oh my, people can be ar$eh*les!

Have you given the cafe a nom de plume? Because Cafe Impromptu is such Claire Powell sounding venue! I imagine it being visited by tall elegant women illustrated by you!

How rude! Maybe they were spies desperate for your table to check for their new assignment taped underneath.

I hope you nestled deeper into your warm chair and enjoyed every moment of your tea and toast!

I would have been slightly terrified too I think!! I am glad to read of your disobedience. Also, have you tried latte? I couldn’t drink proper coffee l, but a latte with lots of nice fluff is good. The tea and jam toast sounds just the ticket to get off the terror. From a fellow disobedient Powell!

Those sorts of situations are hideous but DO remember that the olds LOVE a reason to bitch about anything. I was just yakking to my sister about our parentals - they are still moaning about something that pissed them off in June so just think - you’ll have given those two dinner party convo for years! Don’t let them and the vile language (and I’m a swearer!) get to you - people are ***** xxx

I'm sorry that this happened to you! I hate when perfect strangers feel like can be jerks just because they are angry.

Your writing is so engaging! I know you're an illustrator but have you written any published books that I can buy?

My goodness what a horrendous experience - just when your afternoon was all shaping up so nicely! Weaponised huffing is not to be encouraged. With you all the way on the nastiness of coffee - you don't have to make yourself you know... also speaking as an ancient oldster who actually remembers it being in the charts, I think you are talking about Boy George of Culture Club (a CLASSIC single)

Oh my -Stefan laughed his head off when he read the letter yesterday and pointed out that I had credited the wrong 'George' with singing Do You Really Want To Hurt Me 😂 I of course, meant Boy George but somehow I short circuited. I even had it on single - it was, and still is, a CLASSIC. xx

I've 'liked' this post in solidarity but I do not 'like' this post in terms of this horrible thing that happened to you. Urgh! People are just awful sometimes. You can see it in their shoulders. Even from behind. Hideous!!
